Key Takeaways

  • You pay a one-time activation fee and get a live funded account worth ten times that fee.
  • There's no challenge or evaluation to pass, and no monthly subscription or reset fees.
  • The maximum drawdown is 10% of the original balance, which works out at the same amount as the fee.
  • Crucial Markets is a newer broker based in Saint Lucia, so read the full terms before you pay.

When we started looking at funded accounts to put in front of TradersGrowth members, I kept running into the same problem. Most of them ask you to pay a fee, then pass a test with rules that are easy to break by accident, sometimes twice over. Crucial Markets' 10X Funded accounts work differently, and once I'd done the maths I liked it enough to put our name next to it. This article explains how it works, why I think it's a fair set-up, and what you should check before paying.

How 10X Funded Works

One-time activation fee

You pay once. No monthly subscription and no reset fees.

No challenge

There's no evaluation or phase to pass before you trade the funded account.

A simple 10% limit

Maximum drawdown is 10% of the original balance. It's monitored automatically, and positions are closed if it's exceeded.

Live TradeLocker accounts

Accounts are live, on the TradeLocker platform.

Withdrawals to the Crucial Wallet

When eligible profits are available, you can withdraw them to your Crucial Wallet.

Tiers on the same model

Higher tiers follow the same 10X model, so the account is always ten times the fee.

What "10X" Means (It Isn't Leverage)

I want to be clear on this, because "10X" in trading usually makes people think of leverage. Here it doesn't mean 1:10 leverage. It means the account you get is ten times the fee you pay. On the example tier, a $125 activation fee gets you a live funded account of $1,250.

What you pay vs what you trade, on the $125 tier

Activation fee$125
Funded account balance$1,250
Based on the example tier in Crucial Markets' June 2026 announcement. The account is ten times the fee.

The Part I Like Most: the Fee Equals the Limit

The maximum drawdown is 10% of the original balance. On a $1,250 account, 10% is $125. That's exactly the fee. So the most you can lose is the amount you paid to activate the account, while you trade a balance ten times bigger, and you didn't have to pass an evaluation to get there.

The most you can lose vs what you paid, on the $125 tier

Activation fee paid$125
10% maximum drawdown of $1,250$125
The limit is based on the original balance, so it doesn't trail upwards as the account grows.

I like that because it's easy to hold in your head. You know your worst case before you place a trade. The limit is one number, measured from the original balance, so it doesn't creep up behind you after a good week. And because it's monitored automatically, you're not relying on yourself to stop at the right moment on a bad day.

It still pays to size properly, because $125 of room goes quickly at the wrong size. As an illustrative example on gold at around 4,000, a 0.10 lot position moves about $10 for every $1 move, so a $12.50 move against you would use the whole limit. At 0.01 lots it's about $1 per $1 move, which gives the trade far more breathing space. Check which instruments are available on the account before you plan around any of them.

In very fast markets, prices can jump past any limit before a position is closed. Read how Crucial Markets' terms deal with that, and don't treat the limit as a target.

How It Compares With a Typical Challenge

A typical prop challenge

General industry model

  • Pay a fee to start
  • Pass one or more phases with a profit target
  • Daily and maximum limits, sometimes trailing
  • Fail on a rule and the fee is usually gone
  • Often a simulated account

Best for: Traders comfortable passing a test under several rules

10X Funded

Crucial Markets

  • One-time activation fee
  • No challenge or evaluation
  • One 10% limit, based on the original balance
  • The limit equals the fee you paid
  • Live TradeLocker account

Best for: Traders who want a simple, known worst case

Neither model is right for everyone. A challenge can put a bigger account in front of you if you pass. 10X Funded starts smaller, but you skip the test and the rules are simpler to follow. I think that second part matters more than most people expect.

Before You Sign Up

  • Crucial Markets is a newer broker based in Saint Lucia. Factor that in when you decide how much to put in.
  • Read their full terms on withdrawal eligibility, so you know when profits count as eligible.
  • Check which instruments you can trade on the account.
  • Only use money you can afford to lose. The fee is the amount at risk.

If the model makes sense to you, this is our link to open an account. Read their terms first, start with a tier you're comfortable losing, and size your trades for the 10% limit.
